WHEN LARKS SMOKE CIGARS • WENN LERCHEN ZIGARREN RAUCHEN
- eine Betrachtung zu kulturellen bzw. gesellschaftlichen Phänomenen.
Erinnerungsgeschichte füllt sich mit Zeitlosigkeit. Das Vergängliche ist in ein Regelsystem zur Kombination elementarer Zeichen eingeschrieben. Das Leben als eine Frage der Komposition; ein Klanggefüge im Sinne einer Aneinanderreihung vertikaler Zustände.
Neue Erfahrungen oder Erlebnisse finden ihre Eingliederung in ein bereits bestehendes Schema ohne eine gegeben fällige Prüfung oder ein Gegensteuern der manipulativen Pulse. Das charakteristische Merkmal der zeitgenössischen Menschheit ist es, ständig Bildschirme zu durchqueren. Alle Arten von Illusionen und Phantasien dienen zur Selbsterzeugung. Sie ermöglichen neue Formen der Präsenz und Zirkulation. Die Selbsterzeugung erfährt eine Befeuerung durch das Bild einer zigarrenrauchenden Person, welche für Stärke, Kontrolle, Einfluss, Regeln, Vorherrschaft und Energie steht.
Beeinflussungsmechanismen rufen Affekte hervor und dienen als Mittel derselben und wurde maßgeblich durch Sigmund Freud, in Bezug auf ihre Funktion in der psychoanalytischen Theorie und Praxis, belegt. So werden u.a. kritische Sachverhalte unter Zuhilfenahme von Autoritätsargumentationen untergraben. Der unschlüssige Denker möge der Lerche als eine Überbringerin von Botschaften aus der geistigen Welt mit ihrem Energie- und Wissensspeicher, lauschen. Sie erkennt und benennt die Manipulationstechniken.

'FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH' looks at truth in its theoretical form of existence. The starting point is the idea of a communication situation in the sense of knowledge. A search for credibility and clarity in the statements wants to mean: 'I know it's true, because I got it straight from the horse's mouth'.

During a midnight jogging tour, we met the homeless Pepé (actually Pierre). Due to his rheumatic disease, Pepé got strong and foul-smelling sweats in stressful situations, which led him down the path of isolation and descent and earned him the nickname of the cartoon character 'Pepé Le Pew'. He sat at the end of a park in the south of Cologne between parked everyday objects, in the background an adjoining, stately illuminated house and told us about voices and noises in his ears and his images while being alone at night. Again and again he touched a large lamp, which he must have taken a particularly fond of - I like these places and the objects, they're so close to me, he said. Pepé had certainly had a good education; he spoke very quickly, as if he wanted to dictate something. He said - I remember everything, absolutely everything - clouds rose from their pockets; then followed a mix of quotations and metaphors, which he clearly enjoyed. It seemed as if he wanted to cover up traces, but at the same time to convey something - perhaps the 'The Allegory of the Cave' that he believed he had internalized. Let us remember: With the 'allegory of the cave', Socrates explains to Glaucon the path of thought, which has to lead from the visible to the invisible, and at the same time tries to point out the difficulties that the philosopher encounters, the higher truth of ideas to the unbelievers to make the 'darkness' of the concrete believable to people who are used to it. He asked, do you run another lap - we said yes. See you soon, he said. However, he was then no longer to be found - only the exposed objects in their loneliness and forlornness, deprived of their function, were still grouped by the roadside in their own sensuality.

Angel navigates in a world of computer-mediated technologies. One day she is living a bad dream. Lost in password jungle, confronted with the act to penetrate into the zones of their human vulnerability, to showcase her in public, she strives to restore her own identity.

Que l’on traduise « *pin* » par épingle/badge ou matricule, son association à « ange » en garde le sens énigmatique ; le numéro de matricule des anges/le numéro de l’épingle de l’ange ce que portent les accents de la musique en mineur, en boucle, en continu. Les gestes de la femme – l’artiste-performeuse – découverte en position de méditation, en collant et haut noir, son pas de danseuse, regard ailleurs, ne suivent pas davantage de logique banale. Elle contourne les panneaux, récupère la corde avec laquelle elle encercle trois boules sur quatre.
En *coda*, le *travelling* arrière la découvre, à nouveau assise coiffée d’un béret et écrivant. Fondu au noir. Pas d’explicitation des signes faits de colliers de serrage blanc, en plastique, qui réunissent, dans la superposition d’un plan en transparence, des boules dont une/sa main défait le tracé.
L’espace blanc, fermé, sur un côté, par un rideau noir, accepte divers objets rarement rassemblés en écho à ce « beau comme la rencontre fortuite sur une table d’opération d’une machine à coudre et un parapluie » de Lautréamont. Objets du passé : deux téléphones noirs en bakélite avec cadran rond sur une valise de cuir, chaises étroites tirées de rangées d’église d’abord cassées en amas puis reconstituées, intemporels comme les boules brillantes, la corde lourde et deux petits panneaux juxtaposés avec sinogrammes et tracés blancs faits de segments. En autre superposition, ce sont les téléphones qui sont touchés. L’espace ainsi meublé connote l’espace onirique. Les gestes fonctionnent comme un rébus dont on n’a pas la clef – le numéro. Elle – sans signe d’individualité – porte cette recherche de sens, de soi. Elle intrigue et capte.

... "Paranormal Swing" operates with the vehicle of human thought processes, and their autonomy. It features stacked newspapers in a saline solution, and an ever-changing display of vessel shapes on monitors: the shifting object of current interest becomes frozen, while what seemed firm dissolves; the timeless relatives the timebound.
